Welcome new residents. build new connections.
Moving to a new community is an exciting time, and first impressions matter. Through our New Neighbor Program, we help welcome new residents to Sycamore while creating meaningful opportunities for Chamber members to introduce their businesses to potential new customers. In partnership with local realtors and the City of Sycamore, new residents receive a postcard inviting them to visit the Chamber office to pick up a complimentary Welcome Bag. When residents come to redeem their Welcome Bag, they’ll also be entered into a raffle for $100 in Chamber Gift Checks to spend at local member businesses.
What new residents receive
Each Welcome Bag is filled with information, promotional items, coupons, and branded giveaways generously provided by Chamber members. From restaurants and retailers to healthcare providers, financial institutions, service businesses, and community organizations, the bags showcase the many businesses and resources that make Sycamore a great place to live. For new residents, it’s a helpful introduction to their new community. For participating businesses, it’s an opportunity to make a memorable first impression and begin building relationships with future customers.
Chamber member participation
Participation in the New Neighbor Program is a complimentary benefit of Chamber membership. Businesses are invited to provide at least 25 promotional items, brochures, coupons, or other marketing materials at a time for inclusion in the Welcome Bags. As supplies run low, we will reach out to coordinate replenishment so your business can continue to be represented. Popular items include:
- Coupons and special offers
- Branded promotional products
- Brochures or informational materials
- Useful household or everyday giveaway items
