Locally-imposed business taxes
Restaurant, Bar and Package Liquor Tax (2%)
On February 4, 2002, the City of Sycamore passed an ordinance establishing a Restaurant, Bar and Package Liquor Sales Tax that took effect May 1, 2002. The rate of tax is two percent (2%) of applicable taxable sales, which include “alcoholic liquor” and “prepared food items for immediate consumption.”
Applicable businesses are required to submit an ST-1 Form and Restaurant & Bar Tax Form to the City’s Finance Department on a monthly basis.

Motor Fuel Tax ($0.02 per gallon)
Each Motor Fuel retailer in Sycamore shall have the duty to collect the motor fuel tax from each purchaser and pay it over to the city of Sycamore, along with a Motor Fuel Tax Form and ST-1.
Hotel/Motel Tax (5%)
The City of Sycamore imposes a 5% tax on rent charged for the privilege and use of renting a hotel or motel room within the City for each 24-hour period, or any portion thereof, for which a daily or other room charge is made.
